The CBTP or Community Based Transition Program is a program designed to
help students transition from the Life Skills program into work based training and jobs in the community.  We offer training at various sites throughout the community like Target, Loaves and Fishes,
Greater Regional Council office downtown,  the Health Center at Richland Place,
and the Green Hills YMCA.

Our students have responsibilites like shredding and sorting papers, serving drinks, washing dishes, custodial duties, etc.  We also provide training in self-advocacy, etiquette, and budgeting.
We are located off campus at Vanderbilt (2014 Broadway).
Zuri Egbuji (zuri.egbuji@mnps.org), our program coordinator,
is assisted by Ella McNeal and Renee Gains who are, in turn, assisted by Deborah Howse.

On Fridays we take special field trips to museums, malls, parks, and other events
to ensure that our students get various community experiences.
Students range in age from 18-22.
Working with these students is very rewarding.
We have a lot of fun learning from each other and challenging ourselves to develop new skills each day.  We don't settle for what we know we can do.  We set out to set and meet new goals on a daily basis.
