Credit Recovery
 

Credit Recovery is an opportunity for students who have previously taken and failed a course to retake the class for a passing grade. Students cannot (there are a few exceptions for seniors and for students in the scholars program) take a class in credit recovery for the first time, but must have taken and failed the course in a previous semester.

 

¨       HillsboroAfter School Credit Recovery.The few courses that are offered vary every semester. These courses are open to students in all grades. Pay attention to announcements and emails about these opportunities. There is no charge for these courses. Students can sign up in guidance when courses are made available.

¨       CohnAdult High School.Senior students have the opportunity to recover most core curriculum credits after school at Cohn Adult High School each semester. Courses vary from semester to semester, but only fall semester courses can be recovered during the fall semester, and spring courses in the spring. There is no charge for these courses, but students need a signed permission for from guidance to register. This option is ONLY FOR SENIORS.

¨       NashvilleAcademy.Nashville Academy is an accredited school whose curriculum is acknowledged by Metro Schools. Any student in any grade can take these classes for credit recovery. The cost is $180 per course (or ½ credit). For a full credit, the cost is $360. Students need a signed permission form from guidance to register.

¨       Summer School.Students have the opportunity in the summer to recover credits for up to 1 full credit. Any student in any grade can enroll in these classes. There will be a fee of about $50 for each course taken. Students can obtain information about Summer School in guidance during the month of February, registration will occur in April/May.
