Hillsboro Band Students Selected for Honor Ensemble
Five Hillsboro students were selected to perform with the MNPS Honors Band. On March 31, 2008, they had to report to Hillwood HS for seating auditions and rehearsal from 5-8:30pm. April 8 they participated in a full day of rehearsal with the other (200+) selected students from Metro Public High Schools, to prepare for a concert tonight at 7pm at the Hillwood HS auditorium.
The MNPS Honors Band is a very select group of students recommended by their band directors to participate in this annual event. It is designed to increase the level of musicianship for each participant.
The Hillsboro students selected are:
Mark Ihrie, Alto Saxophone
Jason Mitchell, Clarinet
David Gilmore, Percussion
Zachary Martin, Tenor Saxophone
Darian Jones, Trumpet
