Due to the lack of funds given to bands in the Nashville area, it is necessary to have a fair share fee charged to each participating student. It is certainly unfortunate that in this day and age families should have to pay for their student to participate in a marching band in MUSIC CITY. However, in order for the HHS Pride of Hillsboro Marching Band to be able to participate in competitions, attend any away football games, purchase the necesary marching drill, music, colorguard and drumline equipment, and to afford to hire instructors to aid in your child's ultimate music education and marching band experience, these fees are necessary. The HHS Band Booster organization has calculated the amount of these purchases and transportation costs to equal $400.00 fair share fee from each participating student. The fee is MUCH less than other bands in the area, who's fair share is upwards of $1200.00 per student.
We will do everything in our power to keep the fee $400.00 and under, but we need your help! There are several fundraising opportunities for the band, held during the summer and the fall to help offset the costs for marching band. Even if you pay in full, fundraising is important for the general fund of the Band Booster Account...the more money we earn...the less personal money will have to come from each family.
Each student and parent will sign a contract as to how the fees shall be paid, and each student will have an Individual Student Account (ISA). The fees are NOT optional, and are REQUIRED for participation in the after school events such as football games, parades, and competitions(all of which are grades for the students as well).
WE WANT TO HELP IN ANY WAY WE CAN!!! Please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Davis at 298-8400 ext. 1118 or the Band Boosters President, Tommy Martin at Tommy_Martin@bellsouth.net
We look forward to seeing you in camp and let's have a GREAT 2008- 2009 Season!!!! |
