Cheerleading
 

Interested in becoming a cheerleader at Hillsboro? The requirements for tryout are:

Have application/consent form, Initialed by-laws, physical, and $5 (for judges) turned in on or before determined date set by coaches.

  1. Currently passing 5 out of 6 classes (transfers must provide a copy of their most recent report cards.)
  2. Must have positive responses from teachers.  Negative responses can result in deduction of tryout score.
  3. Have not received out of school suspension this last academic nine weeks.
  4. Have a zero balance in your account and have returned all uniforms (returning cheerleaders).
  5. Be on time and in attendance for ALL clinic nights.

Coaches for the 2008-09 season are Jenn Garcia and Shannon Lake.  Cheer Booster Parent is Pam Harris.

Mrs. Garcia graduated from the University of Kansas in 1998 with a B.S. in Community Health Education. She coordinates the Oasis Center’s International Teen Outreach Program (ITOP) at Hillsboro High and Cameron Middle Schools. Mrs. Garcia is also the Hillsboro Cheerleading Coach.  ITOP, Portable 176

Shannon Lake graduated from Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Speech Communications and Theater.  She is a permanent substitute teacher here at Hillsboro High School.  Ms. Lake Cheered and competed at the high school level in Michigan and has over 8 years combined cheerleading and dance experience.
