Metro Nashville Community Education is sponsored by the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools and the Community Education Alliance of the Metropolitan Government.  The Alliance and the Central Community Council are the two major resources for citizen input on the development of the overall program.

Overview:

  • All classes/activities are offered in the afternoon and evening
  • Organized into three semesters, beginning in September, February and June
  • Serving the community for over 30 years
  • A collaboration between Metro Public Schools, Metro Council and the Mayor
  • Cost-effective: the program is partially supported by tuition that is paid by participants
  • School facilities are used continuously throughout the year
  • Providing qualified instructors from the educational and business communities.

Elements of Community Education:

  • Increased involvement and participation of citizens in the democratic process
  • Revitalized delivery of services

To provide opportunities for school-aged students:
